Section 2(b) in The Maharashtra Land Revenue (Disposal of Government Lands) Rules, 1971
(b)"backward class cooperative society" means a society which is registered or deemed to be registered under the Maharashtra cooperative Societies Act, 1960, by not less than 30 per cent members of which belong to the backward class;
