Section 195(1) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2011
(1)Every shotfirer on duty shall be provided with -(a)a suitable shotfiring apparatus of approved type;(b)suitable shotfiring cable of approved type;(c)a suitable electric lamp or torch, a whistle and a stop watch;(d)a tool, made entirely of wood, suitable for charging and stemming shotholes;(e)a scraper made of brass or wood suitable for cleaning out shotholes;(f)where fuses are used, a knife for cutting off fuses and, unless machine-capped fuses are provided, also a pair of suitable crimpers for crimping detonators;(g)where detonators are used, a pricker made of wood or a non-ferrous metal for priming cartridges;(h)a tool of a type approved by the Chief Inspector for detecting cracks;(i)an approved type of methanometer for detection of inflammable gas in case of solid blasting; and(j)a circuit tester for checking shotfiring circuits.
