Section 228 in The Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961
228. Prohibiting lopping of branches, etc., of frees.
- Whoever, without the permission of the Council, lops or cuts the branches or twigs of any tree or plant standing on a public place or plucks the fruits, flowers or leaves of such tree or plant or causes any damage thereto, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to [one thousand rupees] [Substituted by M.P. Act No. 12 of 1995.] or in the case of Second or subsequent breach, to [two thousand rupees] [Substituted by M.P. Act No. 12 of 1995.].
