Section 2(a) in Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Employees Conduct) Rules, 2001
(a)the wife or husband as the case may be, of the panchayat employee whether residing with the panchayat employee or not, but does not include a wife or husband, as the case may be, separated from the panchayat employee by a decree or order of a competent Court;
