- A candidate who himself or through his proposer, with intent to be elected in an election, -(i)gives false information which he knows or has reason to believe to be false; or(ii)conceals any information, in his nomination paper or in his affidavit which is required to be delivered, as the case may be, shall, notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or with fine, or with both.
