Section 1 in The Police (East Punjab Amendments) Act 1948
1. Short title and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Police (East Punjab Amendments) Act, 1948.(2)It shall be deemed to have come into force on the commencement of the Police Act, 1861 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act)
