Section 21(a) in THE BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2023
(a)advise the State Government on matters relating to the conservation of biodiversity, sustainble use of its components and fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the utilisation of biological resources or traditional knowledge associated thereto, in conformity with the regulations or guidelines if any, issued by the Central Government or the National BiodiversityAuthority;(b)regulate any activity referred to in section 7 by granting or rejecting approvals;(ba)determine the fair and equitable sharing of benefits as provided under the regulations made in this behalf by the National Biodiversity Authority while granting approvals;".
