Section 285(1) in The Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats And Industrial Townships Act, 1965
(1)It shall be the duty of every police officer and it shall be lawful for any municipal officer or servant authorised by the Chief Officer in this behalf to seize and take to any public pound for confinement therein, any cattle found straying in any street or trespassing upon any private or public property within the Municipal area.
