Section 255(1) in Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1971
(1)The Commissioner may, by public notice, prohibit the washing of clothes by washer men in the exercise of their calling, except at such places as he may appoint for this purpose; and after such prohibition no washerman shall wash clothes at any place not appointed for this purpose.
