       The appellant is  represented byMr. Amit Chandna, Advocate.  The Public Authority is 

represented by Dr.P.K.Sahoo, Associate Professor and Mr. Sudarshan, Office Supdt. 


FACTS:

2.  The appellant filed the RTI application seeking information about the names and addresses  of students who passed out from DIPSAR in the session 2002­04 along with details of their  thesis, viva voce, marks obtained etc. in a certain format provided by him.  The PIO said that  information is not available in prescribed format. The appellant was not satisfied and filed first  appeal. The FAA upheld decision of PIO. The appellant filed a second appeal before this  Commission under section 19(3) of the RTI Act.

DECISION: 

3. Both the parties made their submissions.  The appellant's representative submitted that he  was   not   provided   with   the   information   in   the   prescribed   format.     The   respondent   officer  submitted that it is very difficult to provide the information in the format asked by the appellant,  as the same was to be collected from different records and it will cost heavily   upon their  CIC/SA/A/2015/001875 Page 1 regular   office   work.     On   specifically   being   queried   by   the   Commission,   the   appellant's  representative submitted that he needs information on three aspects, date of submission of  thesis   by   the   students,   date   of   viva   voce   and   year   of   passing   for   the   year   2004.     The  respondent officer having agreed to furnish the same without any difficulty, the Commission  directs the respondent authority to the provide the said information to the appellant,  within 3  weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
