In pursuance to the order dated 18.12.2012 passed by this Court, Mr. G.R.Bains, Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (Building and Roads) branch Patiala, Punjab is present in Court today.

A short affidavit of the aforementioned official dated 19.12.2012 has also been filed in Court today and the same is taken on record. Copy has been furnished to the counsel for the petitioner.

The basic grievance of the petitioner who had applied for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) was that even though he had participated in a test conducted on 04.11.2011 towards the process of selection and had obtained 97 marks out of 120 yet, there were nine questions wherein wrong answer keys had been assigned. The petitioner had asserted that he had answered all such nine questions correctly.

In the additional affidavit dated 19.12.2012 filed today, it is categorically stated that the grievance of the petitioner is being CWP No. 23161 of 2012 - 2- redressed in as-much-as the paper setter and experts from Thapar University, Patiala have been asked to re-verify the answer keys pertaining to examination of Junior Engineer (Electrical) and it has further been stated that if there is any change in the answer keys then answer sheets of all the candidates shall be re-evaluated and then fresh merit list would thereafter be drawn up.

In the light of such positive stand taken at the hands of the State, no further directions are required to be passed in the present writ petition.

Writ petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
