(xvii)"infectious or contagious disease" means cholera, leprosy, enteric fever, small-pox, tuberculosis, diphtheria, plague, influenza, venereal disease, and any other epidemic, endemic or infectious disease which the [Central Government] [Substituted by the A.O.1937, for "L.G." ] may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare to be, an infectious or contagious disease for the purposes of this Act;
