(1)Notwithstanding anything in this Act or in the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, (Central Act V of 1908). the High Court may for the duration of the adjournment of any District Court in summer, appoint for such District Court a Vacation Civil Judge not below the rank of a District Judge or the Government may after consultation with the High Court, so appoint a Vacation Civil Judge not below the rank of a [Senior Civil Judge] [Substituted by Act No. 29 of 1997.].
