Section 18(1) in The Statutes of the Punjabi University
(1)Any member of the Senate, the Syndicate, the Academic Council may be removed by the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council, as the case may be, made by a majority of not less than three-fourth of its members on either of the following grounds, namely :(a)the member has become incapable of performing his duties; and(b)the member has been convicted by a Court of Law of an offence which, in the opinion of the Senate, the Syndicate or the Academic Council, as the case may be, involves moral turpitude.
