% 17.12.2020 This hearing is conducted through Video-Conferencing.
1. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to set aside the decision of respondent no.1 whereby the petitioner has been declared to be not eligible for award of sports quota marks in getting admission in the under-graduate course of Delhi University.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has relied upon a communication issued by Delhi and District Cricket Association which certifies that the petitioner participated in the Cooch Behar Trophy Tournament 2019-20 representing the State of Delhi.
3. Learned counsel for the respondent/University states that it is not clear from the certificate whether this is a National Level Tournament and W.P.(C) 10120/2020 Page 1 of 2 the said document also does not satisfy the requirement of being a certificate inasmuch as it is merely on a letterhead.
4. Let respondent no. 2 and respondent no.3 file a short counter affidavit. The respondent no.3 will also give the following details in its counter affidavit:
(i) The number of players who participated in the Cooch Behar Trophy Tournament 2019-20 on behalf of Delhi in the year 2019-20;
(ii) The position that Delhi attained in that particular tournament;
and,
(iii) As to whether Cooch Behar Trophy Tournament 2019-20 is a National Level Tournament.
5. Needful be done within two days.
