Section 53(5) in The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981
(5)Subject to the provisions of sub-sections (1) to (4) every person who(a)is not less, than eighteen years of age on the qualifying date; and(b)is ordinarily resident in the city,shall be entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for any one of the divisions referred to in section 51.Explanation. - For the purposes of this section, qualifying date in relation to the preparation or revision of an electoral roll under this Act, means the first day of January of the year in which it is so prepared or revised.
