Section 19 in Tamil Nadu Court of Wards Act, 1902

19. Notification of assumption of superintendence.

(1)Whenever under section 15 or 18, the [State Government] [The words 'Provincial Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Adaptation Order of 1937 and the word 'State' was substituted for 'Provincial' by the Adaptation Order of 1950.] orders the Court to take under its superintendence the person or property of a proprietor or both, such order of the [State Government] [The words 'Provincial Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' In the Adaptation Order of 1937 and the word 'State' was substituted for 'Provincial' by the Adaptation Order of 1950.] together with any declaration made under the aforesaid sections, shall be notified in the [Official Gazette] [Substituted for the words 'Fort St. George Gazette' by the Adaptation Order of 1937.] and also in the Gazette of the district in which such property or any portion thereof is situate. The notification shall specify the District Collector who shall discharge the duties imposed upon a Collector by this Act in respect of such person or property or both, as the case maybe.
(2)Consequences of such notification. - Such proprietor shall be deemed to have become a ward under the Court, from the date of the said order of the [State Government] [The words 'Provincial Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Adaptation Order of 1937 and the word 'State' was substituted for 'Provincial' by the Adaptation Order of 1950.] and the superintendence of his person or property or of both shall take effect from the said date, and as to property shall extend to all movable and immovable property belonging to him at the date of the order, or to which he shall afterwards become in any way entitled whilst he continues under such superintendence:Provided that it shall be in the discretion of the Court to assume or refrain from assuming the superintendence of any properly which the ward may acquire otherwise than by inheritance subsequent to the date of the order of the [State Government] [The words 'Provincial Government' were substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Adaptation Order of 1937 and the word 'State' was substituted for 'Provincial' by the Adaptation Order of 1950.] under section 15 or 18.
