Section 6(xiv) in The Manipur University Act, 1980
(xiv)to co-operate with any other University or authority or association or public or private body having in view the promotion of purposes and objects similar to those of the University for such purposes as may be agreed upon, on such terms and conditions as may, from time to time, be prescribed; and in particular, to maintain a special relationship with the Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi as a major resource for the development of faculty and for inter-University partnership in research on problems of regional importance;
