Section 18(1) in The Punjab Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1964
(1)The period for which a mining lease may be granted shall be five years in the first instance. Unless the Government allow a longer period not exceeding ten years. The mining lease may be renewed for one or two periods not exceeding the period for which the mining lease was originally granted.
