Section 20 in Karnataka Ayurvedic, Naturopathy, Siddha, Unani And Yoga Practitioners' Registration And Medical Practitioners' Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1961

20. Privileges of registered Practitioners.

- Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force,-
(1)the expression 'legally qualified medical practitioner' or 'duly qualified medical practitioner' or any word or expression importing a reference to a person recognised by law as a medical practitioner or member of the medical profession shall, in all laws in force in the [State of Karnataka] [Adapted by the Karnataka Adaptations of Laws Order, 1973 w.e.f. 01.11.1973] in so far as such laws relate to any of the matters specified in List II or List III of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India, be deemed to include a registered practitioner;
(2)a certificate required by any Act from any medical practitioner or medical officer shall be valid, if such certificate has been signed by a registered practitioner;
(3)a registered practitioner shall be eligible to hold an appointment as a medical officer in any medical institution of any system of medicine in which he is registered;
(4)a registered practitioner may possess and prescribe the poisonous drugs of the system or systems of medicine to which he belongs.
