Section 2(j) in West Bengal Trade Unions Rules, 1998
(j)"Presiding Officer" means an officer, being an employee of the State Government, appointed by the Returning Officer for a polling station to do all such acts and things as may be necessary for conducting an election in that polling station in the manner provided in these rules, and includes a Polling Officer who performs any of the functions of a Presiding Office ;
