(2)The appointing authority may make appointments in temporary and officiating vacancies also from the lists referred to in sub-rule (1). If the list of candidates is exhausted or no candidate is available for appointment from the list of selected candidates the concerned appointing authority may make appointments in such vacancies from amongst persons eligible for appointment under these rules. Such an appointment will not last for period exceeding six months.
