Section 48 in The Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) Rules, 1969
48. Approval of material, etc.
- Where these rules require that a particular fitting, appliance, apparatus or equipment or any type or equivalent thereof shall be provided, fitted or carried or any particular arrangement or provision shall be made, then every such fitting, appliance, apparatus or equivalent thereof or any such arrangement or provision shall be such as is reasonably adequate for he purpose for which it is required to be provided.
