Section 4 in The Bihar Jail Service Rules, 1953

4. Sources of Recruitment.

- Recruitment to the service shall be made. -

(1)in the case of the Junior Branch -

(a)by direct recruitment in accordance with Part III of these Rules by a competitive examination to be held by the Commission; and/or

(b)by promotion of officers of the Jail Department in accordance with the Rules in Part IV; and

(2)in the case of the Senior Branch, by promotion of officers of the Junior Branch.
