53. White-washing, colour-washing of latrines and urinals.
- The walls, ceiling and partitions of every latrine and urinal shall be white-washed or colour-washed and the white-washing or colour washing shall be repeated at least once in every period of four months. The dates on which the white-washing or colour-washing is carried out shall be entered in the prescribed Register (Form. No. 7) :Provided that this rule shall not apply to latrines and urinals, the walls, ceilings or partitions of which are laid in glazed tiles or otherwise finished to provide a smooth, polished impervious surface and that they are washed with suitable detergents and disinfectants at least once in every period of four months.
