Section 109(1) in The U.P. Co-operative Societies Act, 1965
(1)While deciding a dispute, making an enquiry or inspection, hearing an appeal or investigating any claim, the Registrar, the arbitrator, the board of arbitrators, the tribunal or the liquidator shall have all the powers of Civil Court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Act V of 1908), in respect of the following matters, namely -(a)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;(b)requiring the discovery and production of any document;(c)proof of facts by affidavits; and(d)issuing commissions for examination of witnesses.
