(1)The counting of votes shall commence immediately after the poll at the same place where voting took place.(2)The Returning Officer immediately after the poll at the same place shall -(a)open the ballot box, count the ballot papers and ensure that the number of ballot papers found in the box is the same as the number of ballot papers issued as per the office copy of the electoral roll;(b)separate the ballot papers which he deems valid from those which he had rejected endorsing on each of the latter the word "Rejected" and the ground of rejection.
