280. Provision of burial and burning grounds and crematoria within or without municipality.
(1)The council may, and shall if no sufficient provision exists, provide at the cost of the municipal fund places to be used as burial or burning grounds or crematoria, either within or without the limits of the municipality, and may charge rents and fees for the use thereof.(2)The council may farm out the collection of such rents and fees for any period not exceeding three years at a time and on such terms and conditions as it may think fit.(3)If the council provides any such place without the limits of the municipality, all the provisions of this Act and all by-laws framed under this Act for the management of such places within the municipality shall apply to such place.
