(1)At the beginning of every shift, the instruments and controls at the driller's stand, draw-works, mud pumps, sensing and monitoring instruments, mud logging, casing line, cat-line and blowout preventer assembly shall be examined by the person in- charge of the shift or a competent person and he shall satisfy himself that they are in good working order.
