1. Ms. Prabhsahay Kaur, the learned SC for DDA submits that in terms of the land rejuvenation exercise envisaged in Asita East, Asita West and Kalindi Aviral pockets on the western bank of the Yamuna river, about 7,000 trees are proposed to be planted but because of the rainy season there is an apprehension that immediate plantation of trees may not take roots as the soil will be rather loose during the rainy season. The court would note that half of July has gone by and there has hardly been any rain in Delhi for many days. It will be open to the DDA to explore possibility of initiation of scheme of plantation of trees, at least along or near the road, where the soil may not be loose or pulpy. Let an affidavit in this regard be filed by the DDA before the next date.

2. Ms. Kaur has shown to the court a coffee-table book titled 'Biodiversity Park' published by Delhi Biodiversity Foundation, DDA, the said publication is available on the website of www.delhibiodiversityparks.org for the benefit of the larger public. It is a testimony of how degenerated lands can be revived with sustained efforts, following the advice of scientists and experts, into the most beautiful biodiversity parks. Such steps should be replicated so as to save and conserve Delhi's ecology. The project mentioned above envisages similar rejuvenation.
