DR. RATNA DE (NAG) (HOOGHLY): Thank you, Madam Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to raise an urgent matter of public importance.
My Parliamentary Constituency, Hooghly has over 16 lakh people. It is spread over Chandannagar, Chunchura, Pandua, Dhanekhali and Saptagram. But there is no Kendriya Vidyalaya in my Parliamentary Constituency. So, there is an urgent and a long pending demand from the people of my Parliamentary Constituency, which has stretches of most educationally, socially and economically forward areas in West Bengal. Hooghly is one of the improved towns where a large number of multi-language population is residing. Business trade centres, Central Government and State Government offices are located there. Hooghly is on the national highway having railway stations. Several Central Government, State Government and Semi-Government employees are residing there, and work in the Telephone Department, Post and Telegraph Department and Banks.
Madam, I should be obliged if the concerned hon. Minister could look into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to consider the request for sanction of two Kendriya Vidyalayas in my Parliamentary Constituency, which would go a long way in benefiting the people in the area and fulfill their long pending demand of such a standard educational institution called Kendriya Vidyalaya. Thank you.
