Section 17 in The Tamil Nadu Beedi Industrial Premises (Regulation of Conditions of Work) Act, 1958
17. Working hours.
- No employee shall be required or allowed to work in a beedi industrial premises for more than nine hours in any day or more than forty-eight hours in any week:Provided that any adult employee may be allowed to work in such beedi industrial premises for any period in excess of the limit fixed under this section, subject to payment of overtime wages, if the period of work, including overtime work, does not exceed ten hours in any day and in the aggregate fifty-four hours in any week.
