Section 5(iii) in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University Act, 1994
(iii)to hold examination or test and confer degrees, and diplomas on, and grant certificates or other academic distinctions or recognition to persons who have pursued approved course of study in the University or conducted research in the manner laid down by the Statutes and Ordinances;
