Section 9(c) in West Bengal Ground Water Resources (Management, Control and Regulation) Act, 2005
(c)keep a regular vigil on the quality and quantity of water available from the ground water resources in the district or the corporation, as the case may be, and promptly bring to the notice of the State Level Authority any sudden deterioration in ground water resources or contamination of ground water resources with poisonous metals or chemicals or otherwise;
