Section 15(1) in The Standards of Weights and Measures (National Standards) Rules, 1988
(1);The National Physical Laboratory shall discharge the responsibility of realising and establishing the national standards of weights and measures on the basis of recommendations made from time to time, by the General Conference on Weights and Measures or the Interna-tional Organisation of Legal Metrology, as the case may be.
