1. The challenge in the present petition is to the Information Bulletin for Postgraduate Admissions, 2022 dated 31st March, 2022 (hereinafter, "Bulletin") with respect to sports quota, whereby admission on the basis of sports quota program has been directed to be assessed only on the basis of entrance test. Mr Abhinav Ramkrishna, counsel for the Petitioner, contends that in pre-COVID period, the University of Delhi was allocating marks for sports trials to candidates who were applying under sports category. He submits that this condition was suspended during the COVID period and for academic year 2020-21, full 100 marks were allotted on the basis of merit certificates obtained by candidates. Now that normal routine has resumed and COVID protocols have been withdrawn, the University of Signature Not Verified Digitally Signed By:SAPNA SETHI Signing Date:28.07.2022 19:13:03 Delhi has not resumed sports trials. He submits that in fact the impugned Bulletin, prescribes for admissions solely on the basis of the marks and sports certificates. Petitioner contends that he falls under 'Category B' provided in the Bulletin and in case no trials are held, he would be considered at par with category 'C' and 'D' and therefore would be gravely prejudiced and hence, there is an arbitrariness in the admission criteria prescribed in the Bulletin.

2. The extract of the Bulletin placed on record, does not indicate the criteria for sports-persons under category 'C' and 'D'. Mr. Ramkrishna, states that he will place relevant documents on record in this regard. Mr. Mohinder JS Rupal, counsel for Respondent, on the other hand, states that he will examine this issue and get back.

3. Re-notify on 7th September, 2022.
