Section 34(3)(ii) in The U.P. Harcourt Butler Technical University Act, 2016

(ii)where there is no Professor and Associate Professor, the headship shall be with Dean of School concerned. However, the senior-most Assistant Professor shall be In-charge of Department/Centre/Unit.
