Sixteenth Loksabha pan> Title: Need to provide stoppage of train at Sholinghur-Banavaram Railway station, and extension of trains upto Tiruttani.
SHRI G. HARI(ARAKKONAM): Hon. Deputy Speaker Sir, the Arakkonam and Katpadi are very important railway junctions in Southern Railway. These two railway junctions need to be upgraded and modernized with all facilities with state of the art technology. The Itchiputhur and Marudalam railway stations have also to be upgraded. Platforms need to be extended and provided with all amenities.
The stoppage of Brindavan express train number 12639/12640 at Sholinghur-Banavaram railway station has not been there so far. I have raised this issue on the floor of this House several times. But it is yet to be done. At present, no train is operated between Tiruttani and Chennai between 0930 and 1400 hours. I wish that all the trains from Chennai to Arakkonam can be extended up to Tiruttani. Thank you.
