Title: Need to set up Integrated Green Field Bauxite Mining and Aluminium Refinery Complex in Kalahandi District of Orissa-Laid.
SHRI BIKRAM KESHRI DEO (KALAHANDI) : Kalahandi district being one of the richest district with vast deposit of mineral resources like Bauxite Ore is still one of the poorest regions of the country economically. As the Bauxite deposits of Orissa have attracted investments in this sector, I request the Government of India to locate an Integrated Green Field Bauxite Project behind on the deposits of Nyamgiri Hills of Khandual Mali Hills of Kalahandi. Also a Hydro Power Project generating about 600 MW is fully functional in the District to facilitate the power requirement of complex. So I demand that Central Government recommend to the State Government and recommend to Conglomerates like Pechineys SA and Multinationals in the line to establish their venture in Kalahandi District of Orissa.
