Section 6(1) in The Special Rules for the Mulit-storeyed and Public Buildings, 1974
(1)All buildings in their design and construction shall be such as to contribute to and adhere individually and collectively the safety of life from fire, smoke, fumes and panic arising from these or similar other causes.
