Regarding Availability Of Soyabean As A Livestock Feed-Laid. on 4 August, 2021
Seventeenth Loksabha n lang=HI dir=RTL> Title: Regarding availability of soyabean as a livestock feed-laid.
SHRI B.B. PATIL (ZAHIRABAD): I would like to state that there is currently crisis of soybean (de-oil cake) meal availability to be used for livestock feed in the country. Because of less availability, prices have gone 300% up creating a huge pressure on the country’s dairy farmers, fish farmers, and poultry farmers. Soybean meal prices in neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka are much cheaper than India. It is a matter of big concern for livelihood of our livestock farmers. I have received many representations from various livestock farmers’ associations of different parts of the country including my Telangana state requesting to support and save them. In order to ensure Atmanirbhar Bharat and doubling of the farmers’ income which is also the aspiration of Hon’ble Prime Minister, we have to support the livestock farmers by allowing 12- 15 lakh Metric Tonnes of soybean meal to save livelihood of crores of farmers of the country.
