Section 14A(2) in Tamil Nadu Pawn Brokers Act, 1943

(2)Before cancelling a licence under sub-section (1), the licensing authority shall give the licensee a notice in writing stating the grounds on which it is proposed to take action and requiring him to show cause against it within such time as may be specified in the notice.[(2-A) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1) or sub-section (2), where, in the opinion of the licensing authority, any licence granted under this Act is liable to be cancelled under sub-section (1), the licensing authority may, pending cancellation of the licence under sub-section (1) and for reasons to be recorded in writing, suspend any licence granted under this Act and in such a case, no show cause notice is necessary.] [The sub-section (2-A) was inserted by section 2(b) of the Tamil Nadu Pawnbrokers (Amendment) Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 47 of 1983) which came into force on the 24th day of January 1984.]
