Section 5(1) in Government Savings Promotion General Rules, 2018
(1)An Account may be opened by the depositor either by visiting the Accounts Office in person or through permissible electronic modes including internet or mobile banking application of the respective Government Savings Bank in accordance with the procedure approved by the Reserve Bank of India, from time to time.
