Section 176 in The Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949
176. Appointment of places for emptying of drains and disposal of sewage. - The Commissioner may cause all or any municipal drains to empty into any place, whether within or without the City, and dispose of the sewage at any place whether within or without the City, and in any manner which he shall deem suitable for such purpose:
Provided that-(a)the Commissioner shall not cause any municipal drain to empty into any place into which a municipal drain has not heretofore emptied, or dispose of sewage at any place or in any manner at or in which sewage has not heretofore been disposed of, without the sanction of the Corporation;(b)no municipal drain shall be made to empty into any place, and no sewage shall be disposed of at any place or in any manner which the [State] Government shall think fit to disallow.
