Section 5(1) in The Bengal Land Records Maintenance Act, 1895
(1)Whenever the [State] [Substituted by A.L.O.] Government shall issue a notification in the [Official Gazette] [Substituted by A.O. for Calcutta Gazette.] to that effect, every landlord shall, within the period prescribed in the notification, file in the office of the Registrar of Mutations, within the sub-district in which his tenants' land is situated, a statement, in a form to be prescribed by the [State] [Substituted by A.L.O.] Government, showing truly, to the best of his knowledge and belief, the changes, if any, which have taken place in his tenants' rights by reason of transfer or succession, since the record-of-rights was prepared, or since the last statement was filed.
