Section 146(2) in The Indian Post Office Rules, 1933

(2)The amount for which a single foreign sterling money order may be issued or the total amount for which a single remitter may obtain such money order in one day shall be limited to 40 or such smaller sum as may in the case of remittances to any particular country or countries be especially notified by the Director General. The total amount for which a single remitter may obtain such money orders in one day for any country other than Great Britain and Northern Ireland shall not exceed the prescribed limit. In the event of foreign sterling money orders exceeding the prescribed limit in aggregate bring accepted by a post office or offices in India from a single remitter in one day (for countries other than Great Britain and Northern Ireland) only such money order or money orders shall as do not exceed that limit shall be advised to destination and the value of the remaining money order or money orders shall be repaid to the remitter who shall not however be granted a refund of the commission paid by him in respect of such money orders. No foreign sterling money orders shall include any fraction of a penny.
