49. Power to try offence summarily.
- The District Magistrate or any Magistrate of the first class speciality empowered in this behalf by the [State] [Word substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may try summarily, under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, any forest-offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or with fine not exceeding five hundred rupees, or with both.
