Section 324(2) in The Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971
(2)When a building or hut has been removed under the provisions of subsection (1), the corporation shall pay to the owner thereof such compensation as the standing committee may fix, but such compensation shall, in no case, exceed the value of the building or hut less the value of the materials thereof.
