Section 308A(1) in Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919
(1)The council may acquire the rights of any persons to hold a private market in any place and to levy fees therein, the acquisition shall be made under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act I of 1894), and such rights shall be deemed to be land for the purposes of that Act.
