Section 279 in The Asansol Municipal Corporation Act, 1990.
279. Councillors and officer and other of the Corporation to be public servants. -
Every Councillor, [* * *] [Words omitted by W.B. Act 36 of 1994.] the Chief Executive Officer and every other officer or employee of the Corporation shall be deemed to be public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code and in the definition of 'legal remuneration' in section 161 of that Code the word 'Government' shall for the purpose of this section, be deemed to include the Corporation.
